Something like thisβ¦sagesses-French plural of "sagesse," which translates to "wisdom" in English. It refers to the quality of having wisdom, reason, and good judgment.
Wow! Your βpodcastβ was so spot on ladies. So glad I listened to it and I was reminded of my parents that are deceased and how I felt invisible for most of my childhood. They had no clue and didnβt even know who I really was. I experienced a depression about age 19 and suffered through it. Thank goodness it finally passed. Lots of therapy later I married and had 2 children 2 years apart. Also the conversation really helped and then remembered the book by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Woman Who Runs with the Wolves. She writes about this femininity and masculine energy and stories about that. Anyhow thanks for your sharing. π»
Wow, thanks for the book recommendation, Joline, and also for your vulnerable sharing about feeling invisible during your upbringing. I felt the sting of that wound. There is so much depth to this conversation, isnβt there? So much that surfaces for each of us as we delve into our childhoods, to societal expectations, and to our own experience being parents. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and write out such a thoughtful comment.
There is so much in this incredible conversation. I hear how every individual is uniquely in their own experience. Teri Leighβs mother was able to release her desire to still be raising her children and be able to focus on herself and birth her passion and wisdom to the world. And Jenny after her hysterectomy allowed a space to open up and really embrace more of her mothering to her children.
Aging, menopause, matriarchy, crone, on and on about these stages of life are all individual and it is a gift to each to accept and embrace the love of our own life and once we do we are more available to serve and be in the world from a place of our own inner wisdom. I appreciate this conversation so much.
What a comprehensive comment, Alicia. Thank you so much for sharing this, and I feel incredibly honored that you took the time to listen. :) Thanks for being part of our world.

Thanks Alex.
So glad you especially found the ending to be edifying, Alex! I appreciate you taking 45 minutes out of your day to listen. :)
I am engaged by your point that fairy tales have gotten into our heads...why should we be crones in our own minds?
Iβm working to redefine the word crone. it has such a negative connotation, but really it is a profoundly powerful stage of life.

I was amazed at how many deep topics we covered in under an hour.
Same, Teri Leigh. I think thereβs more to unearth, too.
